Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, the first of its kind in Asia, has been set up by the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India to provide much-needed support to Textile, Carpets, Rugs, and other allied industries in the region. The Institute started functioning in 2001 and has helped the artisans upskill and scale up the trade, using carpet manufacturing technology.
